TUV Tester
Anyone know of a TUV tester who may overlook the fact that I have a barely road legal race car which has a UK MOT. I am thinking about registering my car here in the fatherland but according to my work colleagues, I have about as much chance as winning the lotto 2 weeks in a row. Preferably as close to Traben-Trarbach/mosel region as possible.
Vielen Dank
Ich kann dieses auch auf Deutsch vielleicht ueberseten aber mein insel affen Deutsch ist nicht so gut

if you can keep the english plates, i would do it
even if you have german tuv, wich will be really really hard and expensive to get, you still will be in trouble if the 'wrong' cops pull you over.
and in fact, that you´ve got a german plate on the car, they will act even more stupid. With the english plates you just can say: sorry officer i cant speak german, whats the problem

Just remember,
If you are the Owner of the Car and the Car has English Plates and you are a resident in Germany with a German Address.
It is illegal for you to drive this car. With English plates, IF your MAIN Residents is in Germany.
Now the loophole.
If you are NOT the owner of the vehicle you are Allowed to drive it with English plates in Germany.
Now you might be asking yourself wtf.
ITs quiet simple.
IF you own a car like in example 1 and you use it like in example 1 you are committing Tax Evasion as you know that is quiet a big thing here in Germany. So think about it.
Best Regards

Many thanks for the advice guys. This being the case how do you all here on sxoc.de manage to get a TUV with some of the modifications I read here in your signatures? Mein Deutsche Kollegen tell me that the real problems I will have are for:-

-De-cat
-Light require stickers to re-direct beam
-Carbon bonnet and Pins
-Removed interia
-Seats and harnesses
-Getting certificates for all modifications.
Is all this true or are there ways around it?

If you try to get it legal so that the cops won´t have the chance to fuck you twice a day, you´d have to spend as much as you already did for tuning...
So if there´s any chance to keep the UK plates, don´t even think about a german registration!

Well in some way it´s fine that over here you have to fulfil specific rules, but they are much too strict.
I bought several UK cars in the past and saw a few others, and what you are allowed to do is sometimes what I´d call a risk for your life when riding them
